I typically avoid energy gels, etc. as I don't like the taste/texture. Hoping for a different experience, I tried these for the first time during a 14 mile run and found that I actually enjoyed eating them.

I found the Pomegranate taste to be good and the texture was similar to a good gummy bear. I shared with my running partner who also liked them. I will be buying more and using them for longer runs. They did not bother my stomach and were easily digested.

The pack is small enough to fit in a running belt and easy enough to open while running (if desired).

fantastic for hard workout.... - D. Turner -
These taste delicious (watermelon is my fave), they are easy to carry on a run and give me the extra energy I need on a long run. The only thing that annoys me is that they really stick to my teeth! It takes me a few minutes to get it all unstuck from my teeth. Other than that they are great for fuel on long workouts. I like them better than the gu's (except for the stickiness!).

I grabbed one of these (the caramel nut brownie flavor) at the store a few months ago out of curiosity and I am so glad I did! Sure, they're a little higher in fat than the Lara bar but the taste is definitely better! They're natural/organic and filling. They are 180 calories a bar and the Lara bars are 190. They're also only 3 Weight Watchers points!

As long as you don't eat too many a day, exercise and don't eat a lot of other sweets (if any!) then I'd say get these!


Oh and I'd also like to add that even though they will not really harm men if they eat them, you should really just stick to the equally tasty Cliff counterpart!

The Dulce de Leche and Peppermint stick flavors are by far my favorites. These bars are packed with protein and made with natural ingredients so you actually feel good eating them! They're decadent enough to seem like an indulgent treat, but at 180 or so calories, they're anything but.

I ended up picking these up at a local health food store. Then I purchased the other variety pack, which had Chocolate Brownie, Chocolate Chip and Crunchy Peanut Butter. I had low expectations of this set due to the Oatmeal Raisin/Blueberry Crisp mini bars. Neither sounded particularly appetizing.

Well, I type this morning a changed man. The two mini bars I suspected would be the worst flavors were the best, while my wife and I agree that the Chocolate Brownie borders on inedible.

We pack lunches every day as part of a budget/weight-loss plan (thus, the mini bars), and on days I include a Blueberry Crisp mini Clif Bar, I am generally in a good mood and looking forward to lunch.

These bars are great. Work very good for a quick snack that is fairly healthy, and gives you a little boost. I eat 1 mid morning and 1 in the afternoon. All the flavors are good.
